Brainspotting

Brainspotting Therapy

At EMDR, Brainspotting & Psychotherapy of Greater Austin, PLLC, I offer Brainspotting, a powerful and effective therapy that helps clients process trauma, emotional distress, and performance blocks. Developed by Dr. David Grand in 2003, Brainspotting works by identifying specific eye positions—known as “brainspots”—that correlate with stored trauma in the brain. By focusing on these points, clients can access and release deeply rooted emotional pain in a safe and controlled environment.

How Brainspotting Works

Brainspotting is based on the principle that “where you look affects how you feel.” During a session, a client’s eyes gaze at organic eye positions that activate trauma or emotional experiences. By maintaining focus on these brainspots, clients process unresolved issues at a neurological level, leading to profound healing and emotional relief.
